Danny Landon - DOB: 05/08/1976 - Lead vocals, Rhythm guitar
Danny Landon is a multi award winning TV and radio recording artiste who has been in the entertainment business for 16 years and is a very experienced performer. At the tender age of 17 he won British Rising Star Award by BBC Radio 2/ Pebble Mill. Danny started his career fronting country rock outfit Young Country (who later became The Landon Brothers Band) and with this band toured most of Europe and some of North America. He also secured extensive work aboard some of the P&O ferries performing on trips to Rotterdam, Zebrugge and Bilbao.
With this band Danny also performed at many music festivals sharing the bill with acts such as Roy Wood, The Bootleg Beatles, The Bellamy Brothers, Joe Brown, Manfred Mann to name just a few.
He also performed at many of the country’s top venues including Nottingham Rock City, Americana Festival, The Windmill Theatre (Soho), Donnington Park and the old Nottingham Ice Arena where he was fronting the support band for Billy Ray Cyrus.
As well as touring with this band Danny also fronted a band called The Parakeets which was born from a band created by ITV for their sixties based TV show ‘Heartbeat’, where he performed in 2 episodes including an appearance along side ‘Take That’s’ Gary Barlow. This prompted Danny to take this band on the road performing sixties material but later expanded to a MOR repertoire. Danny secured lots of work playing extensively for the British Military bases all over the UK at summer balls etc, and also corporate shows for luminaries such as NCB, Jumping Jacks and various hotel chains.
Danny’s currently performing with a new venture. The Splinter Band which is a 5 piece Indie/Pop/Country Rock band who boast vast experience in their line up, and as well schooled musicians the boys honed their act at smaller venues until they felt the show was ready to take to the road.
